My name is Bakhbergen Bekbauov and I am currently a professor in Petroleum Engineering Department at Satbayev University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. I also work part time at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. I have a PhD degree in Fluid Mechanics with specialization in the areas of mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of multiphase flows in porous media, as well as the computational fluid dynamics. To date my research has mostly focused on petroleum reservoir simulation development issues but more recently it has included groundwater pollution problems. I am motivated to continue expanding my knowledge in an advanced reservoir simulation development research area. If given a choice, I definitely prefer to learn about the mathematical models and develop code rather than just application of commercial engineering solvers that often function as black-box simulation tools. I use Fortran for my research.
