• The FDIS (Final Draft International Standard) of Fortran 2008 is now available from WG5’s FTP server at ftp://ftp.nag.co.uk/sc22wg5/N1801-N1850/N1826.pdf. This is identical to the standard to be published, except for the title (via Dan Nagle on comp.lang.fortran).

• GFortran 4.5 was released today, with many new Fortran 2003 and Fortran 2008 features such as experimental support for polymorphism. See the list of changes for more details.

• IBM announced today the release of IBM XL Fortran for AIX, version 13.1, with full support for the Fortran 2003 standard.
